Antique Hand Made Scottish Christening Kilt Complete Dated 1926

You are bidding on an antique hand made Scottish kilt Christening suit
. The suit includes;
- black velvet kilt jacket with Victorian era Canadian militia buttons on the cuffs & pocket. A plaid sash knotted on the left shoulder and a hand written note, pinned on the hem, from the family that owned the suit. The note ID's the suit and dates it to 1926.
- Hand tailored white shirt with mother of pearl buttons.
- Plaid kilt.
- Pair of black shorts.
- Black velvet Glengary cap with hackle & Scotch Thistle cap badge.
- Pair of brown leather gloves.
- Pair of plaid silk bows, the condition is very poor, lot of dammage & missing pieces.
- Pair of hose tops, wear & some mothing.
The overall condition is good, there is wear soiling & some damage with the worst on the two silk bows. The kilt was made for a child & the note mentions an age of 3-5 years. Although the note dates the suit to 1926, the militia buttons are much earlier, before 1901 & probably belonged to a family member that served in one of the Canadian Highland Regiments.
